Our refreshed website helps make it easier than ever for local leaders, policy makers and practitioners to access and use evidence that improves outcomes for children and families.
For the first time, the site introduces Evidence into Practice, which supports local authorities to put evidence-based practice into action. Visitors can now explore details of our local, regional and national Evidence into Practice work, including a new map showing the nine Partner Place local authorities – one in each region – that we are working with to embed evidence in decision-making.
The refreshed site also features the Foundations Evidence Pie, designed to support local authorities in strengthening their use of evidence. The Evidence Pie illustrates the full range of evidence that should inform the commissioning, design and delivery of services. It reminds local leaders, commissioners and practitioners of the different types of evidence that matter, from research and data to lived experience to ensure the best possible support for children and families.
New on the site is an interactive guide to our refined strategy, rooted in the belief that foundational relationships matter. Every child needs strong, stable relationships to thrive, but many vulnerable children don’t have the close relationships they need. Our strategy focuses on children affected by family-level risks, where strengthening relationships can make the greatest difference to their safety, stability and long-term outcomes. We prioritise children who need targeted support to address family-level risks, children experiencing harm and abuse, and children in care and care leavers.
