Following the launch of the Foster Care Practice Guide, developed by Foundations and commissioned by Department for Education, we are holding an online session to share more about the Guide and how it can be used in practice.
Foster carers are warmly invited to attend, as are senior leaders across corporate parenting partnerships, Fostering Heads of Service, elected members, commissioners, Panel Advisers, Practice Supervisors, Principal Social Workers, Supervising Social Workers, as well as voluntary and Independent Fostering Agencies working in this space.
This is the sixth in a series of national, evidence-based guidance for leaders in children’s social care. Practice Guides bring together the strongest evidence from the UK and internationally about how best to achieve the objectives in the Children’s Social Care National Framework. They are designed to help local leaders plan and deliver effective support for children and families.
The Foundations team will provide an overview of the Key Principles and Recommendations set out within the Practice Guide. The Key Principles and Recommendations are drawn from high-quality evidence, and focus on the support and training that foster carers need to provide children with stable, loving homes while strengthening their wellbeing, confidence and skills.
Please note that this webinar will be recorded with the recording (minus the Q&A) being hosted on YouTube. We will provide a written summary of the Q&A’s (unattributed) alongside the recording.
