Funding
Our role as a funder
We want all children and young people to have the foundational family relationships they need to thrive. To make this happen, we fund work to generate and synthesise high-quality evidence about the effectiveness of family support programmes in England.
When the evidence shows that a programme makes a meaningful difference, we champion good practice and advocate for it to be scaled so that more children and families can benefit.
Funding opportunities are listed on this page and shared through our newsletter and social media channels.
We use our grant funding to:
- Support the delivery of promising programmes.
We fund well-defined programmes with a clear, evidence-informed theory of change and a focus on improving outcomes for children. - Commission robust, independent evaluations.
Depending on a programme’s stage of development, we invest in different types of evaluation to understand whether it works, how, why and for whom.
We also fund evidence reviews and other research that helps us maximise our impact and ensure that more children receive the best possible support to reach their potential.
Funding Opportunities
We regularly invite applications for funding that can strengthen the evidence base for family support. Our current opportunities are set out below.
Designing, delivering and evaluating a ‘common elements’ approach to supporting parents within children’s services
Evaluation Partners
These partners play a pivotal role in our work to build the evidence base around children and families, by designing and running independent evaluations of projects that are supported and funded by Foundations.
