Safe & Together pilot impact evaluation

Call for London local authorities

Safe & Together pilot impact evaluation

SHARE

Summary

In partnership with the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), we are inviting London local authorities to apply to take part in a pilot impact evaluation of the Safe & Together model. The model is an internationally recognised approach to improving how services respond to domestic abuse.

The model applies a child-centred, strengths-based, and systems-informed approach to keep children safe and together with the non-abusive parent wherever possible, partnering with the non-abusive parent as a default safeguarding approach, and intervening with perpetrators to reduce harm to children. The Safe & Together model has been delivered by Respect since 2019 as part of the Safe & Together London Partnership, which involves bespoke implementation support for London boroughs.

Up to seven boroughs will be selected to participate in a pilot randomised controlled trial (RCT), alongside an implementation and process evaluation and cost analysis. Participating boroughs will be randomly allocated to one of three trial groups. More detail on this process can be found in the Call Specifications.

This is an opportunity to contribute to high-quality, policy-relevant evidence, shape future national approaches, and be part of a major London partnership led by MOPAC and Foundations.
