Paul Peros has been policy manager at Social Work England since 2019. He is the regulator’s policy lead on mental health and mental capacity, and is also leading the design of a regulatory framework around specialist qualifications, as well as work to evaluate and reimagine CPD. His background in regulation has involved working on the design of revalidation and developing ethical guidance for the General Medical Council, and on streamlining and strengthening the regulation of social work education at the General Social Care Council.
Paul is delighted to represent the regulator on the Guidance Writing Advisory Group, supporting the writing of these vital guides, looking to ensure that they are aligned to the Social Work England professional standards which underpin safe and effective practice across the profession.
