Coming soon: New, updated Foundations Guidebook

Next week Foundations will launch a new, updated Guidebook – a free, easy-to-use online resource, which puts robust evidence to support decision-making across the spectrum of early intervention and children’s services at the fingertips of local decision makers and national policy makers.

Finding out what works best to support children and families is not easy, but all children deserve the supportive key relationships that help them reach their potential. Evidence about the impact of interventions can be challenging to understand and tricky to access. This can make it difficult to decide on the right kind of support for children and families. Combined with users’ knowledge and expertise, the Foundations Guidebook will help decide which interventions are the best fit for children and families in the local area.

The Foundations Guidebook is a new, updated version of the Early Intervention Foundation (EIF) Guidebook.* The new Guidebook is now more accessible and easier to use, with improved search functions, so users can quickly get key details about individual interventions.

The Guidebook compliments the Practice Guides series as part of Foundations’ free, comprehensive Toolkit. The Practice Guides recommend evidence-based practices, and the Guidebook identifies interventions which could support the implementation of these practices.

* Foundations was created from the merger of EIF and What Works for Children and Families in 2022.
