EDIE

Our goal is to be a leader in all aspects of equality, diversity, inclusion, and equity (EDIE), and we actively encourage decision makers to implement policies, systems and practices which fully reflect the diversity of society. We are committed to considering what can be learnt about racial disparity in every study we carry out. We will speak up for families who experience racial discrimination and use evidence about what works to call for change.

Our EDIE Commitment

At Foundations, our vision is that vulnerable children have the foundational relationships they need to thrive in life. This means all vulnerable children, regardless of their backgrounds or characteristics.

We know that better outcomes for children and families are reliant on the policymakers, practitioners, and commissioners who use our research to make decisions. Our goal is to be a leader in all aspects of equality, diversity, inclusion, and equity (EDIE), and we are committed to actively encouraging decision makers to implement policies, systems and practices which fully reflect the diversity of society.

In Our Work

There are substantial racial disparities in early intervention and children’s social care that cannot be explained by deprivation alone. Differences in representation of minoritised ethnic groups are present across the children’s social care system. These differences indicate that some groups don’t receive the support they need, resulting in poorer outcomes, while others are more likely to have a higher level of intervention.

We are committed to considering what can be learnt about racial disparity in every study we carry out. We will speak up for families who experience racial discrimination and use evidence about what works to call for change.

In Our Organisation

It’s vital that our workforce reflects the diversity of our stakeholders and the wider society in the UK, and we recognise and celebrate how this diversity makes us a stronger, more impactful, and more creative organisation. We’re proud to be an equal opportunities, disability confident employer and we actively seek candidates from diverse backgrounds and communities.
